Gundog Club Grade 3

The Intermediate Gundog

This course works towards the Grade Three of the Gundog Club Graded Scheme. It ensures that your dog is able to mark and retrieve on land and water with confidence and develops on your dogs memory. It pushes your dog to enter and hunt in moderate cover and works on your team building skills ensuring that your dog co-operates with you. It also works on establishing your directional control with some easy blind retrieves.

The Grade Three assessment is in three parts

Obedience
Retrieving
Hunting (Spaniels & HPRs)

Heelwork - off lead connection, direction changes & learning to ignore distractions
Hunting/Retrieving
Directional Control
Marking at a further distance
Use of shot (starting pistol) for most retrieves)
Blind Retrieves
Water Retrieving

Please note, dogs must be able to cope and stay in the car during the breaks or happy to be tethered

These sessions are suitable for all gundog breeds who have achieved their Gundog Club Grade 1 and/or 2 certificate and/ore are starting to work off lead.

For those wishing to take the Gundog Club Assessments, the Grade 3 fee is £50

Please note that refunds will not be given if you are no longer able to attend your booking, your female dogs come into season or they are ill during the course and you're no longer able to continue.
Places are not confirmed until payment has been received. If you reserve a place via choosing to book via BACs but someone pays before you - unfortunately they'll get the place.

A session may be covered over a Task-based self study session if the weather is too cold/severe or even too hot in the Summer months, for the welfare of your dogs.
