Enhance your Gundog Hunting Skills
This 2-day weekend workshop will be fun packed and focussing totally on the Spaniel and HPR Hunting elements of Gundog training. The weekend is a chance for you to spend 2 days trouble-shooting the hunting sequence based training with specific direction and feedback from leading expert Helen Phillips.
The venue has a little more challenging environment to enable handlers to increase their skills in. This workshop will explore and improve quartering, the flush, the point (HPR), whistle cues and the hunting sequence.
It will involve improving confidence in the field, building stamina, retrieving skills, delivery, marking, distance, re-direction, arousal management and may include shot depending on the dogs that attend.
Throughout each day Helen will work with each handler individually and will set specific exercises to suit individual requirements, together with the opportunity to chat through areas of weakness and work individually on what they want.
Dogs should be ok to spend small amounts of time in the car.

About Gundog Training
Gundogs have inherited specialised skills that have been honed over hundreds of generations and as more and more owners are getting Gundog breeds as pet dogs, owners are realising that their pet Gundog is capable of much more but also needs much more. These dogs have been bred to work hard, sometimes work all day and have strong innate instincts and high energy levels.
Good field work is built on an understanding of the dog’s ability to maintain self-control and the handler’s ability to understand this and the environment. With Clicker Training your Gundog, you can learn how to develop a partnership using reinforcement strategies in depth and learn how to use careful planning so that you build a high level of control that exceeds the stimuli of the hunt and shoot.
