Individual Training
Working together with you to tailor a bespoke plan for your training needs
Our 1-1 sessions are suitable for those who would like that little extra personalised help, who struggle to get to class or for dogs that can't quite cope and find it challenging in a group scenario.
We work with our on a 1-1 basis no matter of your training needs or goals
You will receive a more focussed approach through the 1-1 sessions as we can tailor each session based on your needs whether thats help with getting focus or responses from your dog, Heelwork, Recall, more gundog based skills, or even getting you ready for one of the Gundog Club's Field Test Assessments.
Having individual training sessions is a great way to focus on the areas you'd like to improve and spend
more time with the trainer. We offer a comprehensive support package for clients who want to train their dog by way of Individual Training Sessions.
The typical behaviours we are regularly asked to help with are:
- getting focus or attention from your dog when out
- lead walking and not pulling on the lead
- recall
- perfecting the retrieve
Why a One to One?
Experience tells us that the best way to achieve long-lasting results is to work toward an overall plan, covering one area at a time. Little and often is the best way for your dog to learn and for you to stay motivated by working at a pace you are comfortable with. As such, we do not offer standalone sessions unless you have already enrolled in one of our group classes for Gundog Training, due to the time, consistency & the structured process it takes to get success to train a dog and achieve your goals.
All 1-1 training starts with an Initial Assessment Consultation. This allows us to gage where you're at with your dog, and if we feel that a 1-1 package would be beneficial or not.
If a training package is the way forward, then there are a couple of options available, which we can discuss upon completion of the initial assessment.
The 2 options available depending on what you'd like are :
- Block of 3 Session Package - this is 3x 1-hour sessions, paid up front - typically 1 a week or 1 every fortnight.
- Block of 5 Session Package - this is 5x 1-hour sessions, paid up front - typically 1 a week or 1 every fortnight.

An initial assessment session to look at both dog and handlers status and understand issues and objectives.
Upon completion, we will discuss whether further 1-1s with Paws & Play Gundogs are beneficial and if so, and to determine number and frequency.
